Taking place in medieval Persia, players control an unnamed protagonist who must venture through a series of dungeons to defeat the evil Grand Vizier Jaffar and save an imprisoned princess. There are small animals such as crabs, rabbits, and toucans that can be found throughout Astro’s Playroom. However, they have an even more useful purpose in that they can contribute to the player’s coin collection efforts. One hit yields one coin, two hits yield two coins, but three hits will yield the maximum of seven coins, meaning that interested individuals might want to put some serious effort into this. Please note that if they get killed, they will need to re-collect all of the coins since the last checkpoint, meaning that there is extra incentive for them to be careful. Or at least some more replayable sections for things I actually enjoyed.

But in the case of the DualSense, for the first time ever really, I feel like it actually enhances and changes the game for the better. For example, the roller ball goes from being asphalt paths to a pinball machine-like level, while the ship mostly stays the same but has a fun boss to beat with its rockets. In between each standard platforming level are dedicated sections to unique suits for Astro. Memory Meadow, for instance, Astro becomes a little roller ball that uses the Dualsense’s trackpad for control instead of the left thumbstick. Astro’s Playroom is a very simple and small in-scale and scope game.

Puzzle Piece 2/4 – Back on the main path, you then ride a circuit board through an area with electric rail obstacles. Midway through you can find this puzzle piece, basically right in your way. Puzzle Piece 3/4 – After the checkpoint where you slide down a slope, this puzzle piece is to the right across the grey quicksand.
